An enchanted place surrounded by dense vegetation reflected in the Lake. A story of hospitality, that of the Luz family, that goes back a long way in time. Let’s retrace the main stages of the origin of Camin Hotel Colmegna’s concept of holidays…
- 1820 Leopoldo Casnedi converted his small villa into an inn surrounded by a centuries-old park and overlooking the lake. An 1857 publication says «[…] Colmegna, with which the hamlets of Agra and Cassina Casneda (627 inhabitants) are combined. These vicinities are extremely pleasant; there is considerable trade in wood and coal, and here Mr. […] Casnedi has recently built, and with good counsel opened to the public, a delightful small villa for use as a hotel».
- 1971 Lothar Luz, an engineer from Stuttgart, began the process of transforming the Villa into what would become the present Camin Hotel (1990) … The name comes from the fireplace (camino) in room 107. A little at a time, the villa became a hotel, as well as a restaurant and events venue
- Lara Luz has been managing the hotel with love and dedication since 1994
